Michael Prescott's (aka Steven Conifer) 'Call Me Anytime' is a highly entertaining collection of stories that at once evoke our emotions and compel us to think.
Masterfully drawing us in to identify with his characters, Prescott leads us into worlds that both fascinate (albeit often in a sense similar to the way a train-wreck can fascinate) and bring us face to face with truths and insights most of us would otherwise overlook.
The story, 'The Lost Idea', alone is worth the price of the book. While not without a seriously dark streak (like most of the stories), this story had me laughing so hard tears were streaming down my face.
Sharing the feature of 'worth the price of the book alone' are the stories, 'For Sale By Owner', 'Do You Want Anything', 'It's Always Warm Here', 'Wet Dogs', 'Penance', and 'All Of Life Is Just A Bonus'.
